TAG: Do You Mind? was organized by co-Directors Gustie Owens, Amelia Connelly, and Jonathan Katz, and features artists hailing from Pakistan, Canada, and US, from the West Coast to the West Side. When speaking with teenagers across a wide array of backgrounds, two of the most prevalent topics tend to be issues of mental health and politics. Many pieces in this show are introspective. Many are critical of the political atmosphere around us. Others explore the cross-section of the two: where the outer world impacts inner-most identities and desires. The show was held at chashama's 325 West Broadway space between April 7-12.
The works shown here comprised our 2015 show, "b. 1995-2000." The show, curated by T.A.G. C0-Directors Isobel Connelly (currently studying at RISD) and Isabelle Devereaux (currently studying at Williams), was held at Temporary Storage Galleries, Brooklyn Fire Proof from August 20, 2015 to August 22, 2015. The show included approximately 30 works by teenage artists from across the country and abroad. The works in the show were selected from over 800 submissions from teens from 22 states and 3 continents.
